and so what did your silence do?
oh, they let everything pass you by
and this you must have learned
that your silence has done you no good
it has given you the impression
that you can be oppressed
that you are helpless
that those that are cruel to you
can do all they can
as though you are nothing but a post
a stone
a wall
a bridge where they pass
a tree where they all can rest for a while
and then they leave you
with nothing to say
now, that to them you do not exist at all
silence has been too cruel
you have become simply one of its dead
uncared for
