WHY CAN ONE BE SO LONELY IN THE MIDDLE OF A CROWDED TOWN?

six o'clock in the plaza of this town
two lovers are seated on a bench under the darkness of the mango tree
a group of drunkards are sharing their green jokes on the side of the street
Jose, who is jobless, after the election (since his candidate lost) is selling beer and duck eggs on the other side of the road
some swaying gays are walking as though they are beauty contestants on the ramp imitating Ms World
the naughty boys are laughing at them with their cigarettes throwing smokes in the cold air
the hawkers are roaming the streets with their hot bananas and barbecues
two dogs are doing their thing on the side of an old building
truck drivers stand-by as sexy women begin to show their wares

this is just a small town trying to make itself busy and important.
it is a hard question to answer: why can one be still so lonely?
