ADDING ANOTHER DAY

everyday i am making a summary of
my fifty and three years

i still use my fingers and my toes

no calculators, i just want to distract myself

from the hazards of living

i use a lot of time, to forget, to regret, to feel,
to imagine what good times were there

beach balls, fire trees, fog on the side of the mountain
the laughter on the river
the slide on the hill,
the nest of birds
the fish on the the hook, line and sinker
so many many things
still titillate me

i do this because seemingly i do not know anymore
how to really live

that ever after, that ending of the story that we all love
which are not real

everyday i am making a summary of
my fifty and three years

i still use my fingers and my toes

just to have another day with you.
